Just do it! So unhelpful...
Hello, my name is Rachel. I'm a self doubter!
[Hello Rachel!]
I've made art since I could performance-art-dribble patterns on to my broiderie anglaise doily dresses...I wasn't terribly self conscious of my creations at the time [or the horrificly flouncy dresses my toddler self was deposited in]. It soon began though...
My school days were full of anxiety. I'd make art and crafts at home a-plenty. It helped release the ick. By adulthood I'd only ever gifted art to people on occasion, never considering actually taking pride and selling my work. But I loved creating, I dabbled in feltmaking, jewellery-making, quilling. I even made a child; my most prized creation!
You can decide at any point to ignore the little 'orrible put-down voices in your head, or the 'things you have to do' list that you're using as a diversion. It may not be today, or tomorrow, but it can happen!...Don't tell me you can't [that's Boston for c**t, and supremely rude. I just won't tolerate such language!] You can.
That warm, safe blanket of familiar routine and low-risk living has served you well hasn't it? But have that extra coffee, stay up that extra hour or two. Press the button that takes the chance for change and personal satisfaction. See where it leads you? What's the worst that can happen?
